I became interested in law in the early 1990s while working as a phone company lineman and serving as a union steward and volunteer union organizer with the AFL-CIO street heat program. After graduating summa cum laude from the University of Massachusetts, the University of Colorado offered me a scholarship and I moved to Colorado for what I planned would be three years. But like many of us, Colorado hooked me and now it’s the place my kids and I call home.

I have been in the legal business in Colorado for a while now. After several years building experience in fancy downtown 17th-Street white-shoe firms, I finally had the courage to take a chance and hang my shingle in the Central Park, formerly Stapleton, neighborhood. I like being my own boss, working with regular folks and small business owners, and not wearing a suit anymore unless I’m going to court.

The other great part about being lawyer is I have some valuable skills I can donate back to my community and people in need. My current favorite is teaching a mock trial class to middle school students on Friday afternoons. I also volunteer for Colorado Lawyers Helping Colorado Veterans. My lasting legacy was creating the Special Committee on Consumer Protection for the Colorado Bar Association and chairing that for a few years to get it started. I left that in some very competent hands and it continues to make fantastic progress improving consumer protection in Colorado.

In over two decades of law practice I’m proud to say I’ve provided legal services for everyone from a dog walker, up to some of the biggest banks in the world. I’m currently rated by Super Lawyers and have a Distinguished rating for High Professional Achievement from Martindale-Hubbell.

Whatever business or commercial legal issue you are looking for help with, I hope you’ll give me a call or use the provided form. I specialize in Small Business Law and Consumer Protection. I’ve been around for quite a while and if I can’t solve your issue, I might be able to point you in the direction of someone who can.
